Gårdskapital (Accelerator)

Company Description: Gårdskapital aims to increase transparency and decrease transaction costs to make agriculture more accessible and investable to investors, thereby making more capital available for the farmers driving the transition towards a more profitable and regenerative farming system. The company has its initial traction through a reg.AIF-structure for professional investors that provides credit to agribusinesses. For farmers this provides an important complement to bank loans, as there is a growing funding gap in the sector. With support from Sweden´s innovation agency, agricultural agency, and private investors such as Propel Capital, Gårdskapital is now developing a direct lending platform to make the asset class of agricultural loans available to even more investors. In addition to direct lending Gårdskapital is involved in the project development and financing of large-scale commercial greenhouse projects as well as in developing an indexed loan product to meet the growing need of financing for agricultural real estate acquisitions. Gårdskapital is actively looking to partner with investors and other stakeholders to accelerate the pace of the transition towards more local and regenerative agriculture.
