Company Description: Magnotherm is commercializing magnetic cooling. Based on our innovation regarding magnetocaloric materials, we are engineering magnetic cooling devices for a variety of cooling applications around room temperature. Magnetocaloric materials heat up and cool down by magnetization and demagnetization. By pumping a heat transfer medium (eg water) through the material, an isentropic cooling and heating cycle can be realized. Thus, no climate-damaging or problematic refrigerants are needed. Moreover, cooling efficiency can be significantly enhanced compared to vapor compression based systems today and in future. By individualizing the active material composition, mass customization can be realized based on standardized cooling devices. Applications range from F&B cooling systems, A/C, IT cooling to heat pumps.
