Company Description: VISION & IMPACT At Circu Li-ion we give batteries a 2nd life to accelerate the green revolution by maximising the value of each battery through an automated battery upcycling process. A recent ISO 14044 conform LCA of our process results in -48% CO2 emissions compared to a traditional battery life-cycle. PROBLEM Today's battery recycling is a linear, hazardous and very energy intensive process, with limited percentages of raw materials recovered. Therefore, used batteries are a true resource - however, today’s recycling methods are inefficient as they destroy still functioning battery components, most notably the cells and the BMS. SOLUTION Our automated battery upcycling process sets a new technological and ecological standard: enabling an economical 2nd life for all batteries. For micro mobility providers, our solutions offers new ways of reusing batteries internally, drive down operational costs as well as reaching sustainability targets. For recyclers we enable a pre-treatment dismantling step into material pure sub-components, which significantly enhances process stability, reduces the amount of energy needed and increases output efficiency.
