Company Description: Salient Energy is developing a new type of battery called the zinc-ion battery. It is made with far cheaper and more abundant raw materials than lithium-ion, has double the service life, and uses an intrinsically safe water-based chemistry. However, the most exciting aspect of the zinc-ion battery is that it is completely compatible with standard lithium-ion manufacturing. This keeps manufacturing costs low and allows for a rapid scale-up around the globe through partnerships with existing manufacturers.
