- 40% of people living with diabetes suffer from severe nerve damage. Due to this nerve damage, a small injury can become an ulcer, infection, gangrene and amputation. After a lower leg amputation, 4 out of 5 people with diabetes will pass away within 5 years. Research has shown that temperature monitoring can prevent ulcers by 72%. We have developed smart socks with our sensors in the fabric that track inflammation (temperature). We are a tool that helps people living with diabetes learn from data-driven insights and prevent diabetic foot ulcers!
